Is Theodore mostly used in African American culture?

I know it’s a weird question. I’m considering Theodore for my son but several people who I’ve told have responded “that’s a black name”....
I know names don’t have any specific race, I’m just wondering why I’m getting this kind of feedback?

I don’t know. Thats weird. I’ve never knew a “black” Theodore. People need to stop associating race with everything, it’s so annoying. Name your sweet baby whatever name you want, screw them & their opinions.

I’ve never heard anyone say Theodore is a black name 🤔
Our friends just named their baby Theodore, they call him teddy. They are white 🤷🏻‍♀️
Does it really matter though? You can give your kid whatever name you want and like.

The only Theodore I know is black, then again I only know black people. 
Also, the fact that you are friends with people that think and say those kinds of things so comfortably is so weird to me. Maybe get better friends?

Any person I know with that name is not black. But also, who cares what other people think 🤷🏼‍♀️. There’s nothing wrong with that name & it isn’t associated to just one ethnicity either.

I named my son Jackson. I was talking to my old best friends mom and she really said “Why would you give him a black name?” I have never in my life been so speechless. A name is a name  and if you love that name then name your kid Theodore!
