Baby won’t stay asleep?

Question

Anybody else having a hard time getting their baby to stay asleep? I don’t know what’s wrong. He’s 3 weeks and fights going to sleep so hard. It takes me an hour to put him down, and as soon as I lay him down he wakes up again and starts crying. Even when he is passed out laying down he keeps waking himself up and crying. I swaddle him, so it’s not startle reflex issues.

Does baby like motion? My second doesn't, she prefers to lay totally still which is strange for a baby lol but my first born would only sleep if he was touching me, or moving. We had an auto-rocking bassinet he would sleep in and when he would start to fuss, startle, or wake up, the rocking of the bassinet would lull him back to sleep. Other times I'd let him nap supervised in his swing or I'd bounce him in the bouncer while I watched TV. If the movement stopped, he would wake up. Baby wearing is a great idea if you can do that to get stuff done. Babies just want to be near you, its biologically natural for them to not want to sleep alone and to be needy 🙂

Same here. My son hates to go to sleep it’s very difficult to get him down so I can do other things that need to be done

My newborn was like that until I took Taking Cara Babies newborn course. Now he sleeps 2-4 hours at night, and his naps are 1-3 hours long. I highly recommend the course, it saved my husband and my sanity! (My son just turned 3 weeks old)

I have a 3 1/2 week old baby girl and I breastfeed her until she falls asleep. We have the SNOO bassinet and it is a lifesaver for sleep! You can YouTube videos on it but that is literally how the baby stays soothed asleep.

How are his wake windows? It could be that he’s overtired. I know if mine is overtired it’s hard to get her to go to sleep and stay asleep.  
And you tried using a sound machine? 😊
