Empty gestational sac at 6 weeks in the abdominal ultrasound?

With my first daughter, I had a vaginal ultrasound & it appeared empty so my Dr ordered me another ultrasound 2 weeks later & there was the peanut. Sometimes baby just needs a bit more time-not always something wrong.

I went in for an ultrasound Oct.30th thinking I was 6w+4 and they found the Sac but no yolk sac or fetal pole so they had me come in two weeks later. I was completely freaked out thinking the worst and researching and looking for some type of comfort on reading other people’s experiences and everything I read had me preparing for the worst. We finally went in yesterday and after a couple minutes of looking we finally found baby measuring around 7w4and a 166bpm heart rate, my dates where off and all the worry was for nothing. I know it’s easier said then done but just relax try and remain positive there’s still lots of hope.💜 sending prayers your way for a positive outcome!

Yes it can happen. It’s called blighted ovum I think. It’s where the baby itself never grew but the sac did. I’m so sorry.

When I was pregnant with my boy I had the same issue, my dates were off and baby turned out to be fine it was just a mistake on my end. Don't freak yourself out just yet, wait until you can get in to your doctor. Stressing yourself out is only going to make you anxious. My thoughts and prayers are with you 💖

With the first trimester pregnancy, you always get a transvaginal, not just Transabdominal.  Transabdominal is utilized to make sure the cul-de-sacs are okay and that everything in the adnexal areas is also fine.

i’m not sure but at 6 weeks they found everything they were looking for in my baby and you can see his heart beat. if you search it up on google you can also hear the baby’s heartbeat at 6 weeks so unless you have your dates wrong and it’s too early but my pa from planned parenthood said that they need to at least see something.

These comments are giving me some hope, I went in today gestational sac measuring 6w6days but it’s empty. I have a HCG test tomorrow & repeat in 48hrs please pray for me & my husband it’s out first time
