What the hell is this??

Its been there about a year getting bigger. Its not hard...actually quite soft. It just feels like extra skin to me but hubby says it feels like a cyst.

That looks like a pilonidal cyst that's about to change your life...and not in a good way. 
I would suggest in the strongest way that you get to a doctor right now. It looks like its brewing, they may be able to handle it now with minimal pain to you. The intervention if it gets infected ans/or an internal sinus closes is EXTRORDINARILY painful. Dont wait. Ascertain it's not a cyst just to be sure.

Have you given birth with an epidural? I have something similar in that spot (doesn't hurt unless i push in it and then it's a dull achy feeling) and am wondering if the epidural I had when I gave birth in 10/13 I'd what caused it

My pilonidal cyst never hurt. Only reason I found out I had one is because it was leaking fluids.... I think we could guess all day long and it wouldn’t matter until you go to a doctor. If it IS a pilonidal cyst, or anything that needs surgery... make sure that doctor is experienced and knowledgeable in working in that area. I spent 4 years on bedrest after a botched surgery, and 3 surgeries later to finally heal, plus a crazy looking scar that I am forever self conscious over. If I would have went to my 3rd and final surgeon I would have been okay from the start.
