Do kids car seats expire?

So just wondering if car seats for older children expire? I know the infant bucket seat ones do but I’m wondering about the stage 2 and 3 ones. We still have my sons old Batman car seat which is like a 3 point harness booster seat kind of thing. We were going to keep it for when our daughter was old enough to use it but I just noticed the manufacture date was 2015 and my daughter is only 16 months so by the time she’s able to use it it will likely be around 7 years old
