Baby nails? Mittens?

My 3 month old is always scratching her face I feel terrible! We file and cut them almost everyday and the next day they are sharp. I hate that I have to have mittens on her because I don’t want her to be behind on her development. And she’s learned to pull them off. She loves sucking on her hands mittens on or off. I try to keep the mittens off while she sleeps but even in her sleep she scratches herself. She’s a chunky baby so the mittens are leaving red marks. Any remedies y’all can recommend to keep them soft? She has scratches everywhere 😭
