I’m so baffled by all these people who are against just spouting all these insane “facts”. I live in Canada, I can see my dr same day within the hour if I need. They’re busy? I can get on one of the numerous apps and book an online app with a gp/ specialist whatever I need. I don’t like that dr? I can choose which ever one I want in whatever city I’d like. I can go to the er in whatever city I need to. My blood work and other lab tests don’t cost me a thing. If I want further testing I request it. If there is a any particular specialist i want I ask for a referral. I have never had to wait for any surgery the dr told me I needed. Or any procedure. 
The people crying about long wait times, bad care are clearly just regurgitating stories they’ve heard third or second hand from other sources. Our health care system may not be perfect but I will never have to choose between cancer treatment (god forbid) and possibly being homeless

The Americans on here seem to follow an awful lot of myths. You pay less for universal healthcare then you do for medical insurance, those who can’t afford it don’t pay, meaning that human rights are upheld. Pretty basic. People don’t die here waiting for healthcare. I speak to a doctor the same day and I go to the hospital immediately if I need treatment. I’ve had several, non emergent operations, all within 6 months. Quality of care here is excellent. It’s really shocking to me Americans think they have a great system, when you watch people bankrupt themselves, or chose not to have healthcare because they can’t afford it.

It would result in higher taxes, which I am 100% against at this point. I have no issue paying for my own healthcare, to receive quality healthcare. I’ve heard enough horror stories, that I want nothing to do with UHC.

It works in Canada. But Canada is not ran by the US government. You’re essentially comparing two of the same schools filled with the same classes and everything is the same in the facility. However, one has a wonderful faculty and the other faculty doesn’t give a flying fork about the students education. Different scenarios here and different outcomes. US government sucks either way I look at it.

Health insurance is not a one size fits all. The type of care I need is likely very different than the type of care an elderly man needs. I have no desire to pay thousands of dollars every year from premiums or tax’s for care that shouldn’t cost that much. There is no such thing as free healthcare. I should be able to buy a plan that fits my needs and be charged for that plan based on my needs. You re enroll in health care every year, that allows us as adults to think ahead and decide what medical care we need that coming year. We can be responsible enough to make our choices every year.

Because then you are no longer in control. People wait a year for an emergency surgery. And most people die before they get the help they need. It seems fine and dandy but its not
