Transvaginal or Abdominal Ultrasound?

Does anyone know if they do a transvaginal ultra sound or abdominal ultrasound at 9 week? I’m getting my first ultrasound on the 20th and I’ll be about 9w3d.

It totally depends on your dr/clinic, but usually if it’s your first ultrasound they will do transvaginal just in case you’re measuring earlier than expected, plus transvaginal ultrasounds are more clear during early stages so your dr should be able to get better measurements to look at the CRL, FHR, ovaries, etc. Some doctors prefer to do abdominal from the beginning so it totally just depends. I had transvaginal scans up until 12 weeks, then my dr switched to abdominal after that.

Mine was transvaginal! I’m so glad it was, I got such a good view of tiny little baby 💗 it’s the most magical moment when you see that tiny human and hear their tiny heartbeat. I sobbed lol

Mine was abdominal and I was 8 weeks and 4 days and you could see the baby plain as day. But she also said if she couldn’t do anything she would do it vaginally. It just all depends.

Mine was abdominal at 8w3d. She was able to see everything she needed to!

For my first two pregnancies I had a vaginal ultrasound at 9 weeks.
With this pregnancy I’ve only had abdominal ones.
It just differs from office to office.
