Newborn necessities?

Im saving up money for this but whats the things you used most? What should i buy and what should i not?

Pack and play with detachable bassinet- she sleeps in the pack and play at night in our bedroom, and the bassinet is good for naps outside or in a different part of the house. 
Halo sleepsack swaddles- they’re great for transitioning from swaddling 
A swing/bouncer in one- we have the Graco Duet Connect swing and bouncer and it’s great bc the swing stays in one spot but you detach the bouncer and can move it anywhere. We started putting it next to the dinner table while we eat and she’s so happy there
Sound machine- we have the hatch rest and the sounds and color lights are great
LOTS of burp cloths!! We have them all over the house and use like 5 or 6 a day. I like the Burts Bees ones bc they are thick and stay soft even after lots of washes
Waterproof changing pad liners to go on top of the changing pad cover- after 3 or 4 poop explosions all over the cute plush cover I bought them and they are excellent! I was having to change the cover several times a day before I got them- and let me tell you breastmilk poop stains and it’s hard to get out! The liners can be bleached in hot water. 
Activity mat with music and lots of toys attached 
Diaper pail- I didn’t think I wanted one til I got one and it’s great! It holds in the stink and it’s so much easier than going to the kitchen to throw away every diaper! We use the diaper dekor brand. 
Butt paste- it’s awesome!
Bottle warmer- another thing I didn’t think I wanted til I got it. It warms a 4oz bottle of breastmilk in 4min 30sec while we change the diaper, and baby has a nice warm meal in the middle of a cold night :)
I can’t think of anything else we use constantly.. but the stuff I listed is a must for us!

A baby carrier.. I would never of got any housework or meals done without it

A safe sleeping space (we use pack n play with bassinet insert). Pacifiers. Diapers and wipes. Clothes (zipper pajamas and some outfits). Swaddles (2-3 is plenty). Bottles (if you plan to bottle feed or in case breastfeeding doesn’t work out). Thermometer. 
Honestly, a lot of stuff you can order on Amazon as you realize you need it. Newborns don’t need nearly as much as society makes it seem they do.

Normal swaddles & Swaddles that have the Velcro or zipper (they were so much easier for me , I’m so bad at swaddling ) 
The nose sucker thing & the baby saline nose drops ( my baby got a cold at 3 weeks and it was a life saver )

I said I was never going to co sleep- but it was a game changer. A co sleeper- even if it's a cheap one. Have one ready in Amazon just in case! We only used the bassinet a handful of times because he would just wake right up and start screaming until I'd hold him. With the co sleeper I could put my hand in next to him and he would relax and go to sleep. 
Dr. Browns bottles for sure as well as a bottle warmer. (I was dumb and thought if you breast fed you didn't need one- you still do. Lol). These bottles are the best for babies who are colicky and they are great with breast milk or formula- I can't recommend these enough! Totally helped my LO! We went through several different bottles before we found these.
A bouncer or bouncer swing combo. Life saver! 
Skip the expensive baby bath. We used ours maybe 4 times before going and getting him a bouncer type thing for the tub. The BEST way to wash baby is in the sink. It's more comfortable for you and baby. There are great flower things you put in the sink and it is soft for the baby, holds the water in and helps with slippery baby. Win win win.
Diapers, wipes, butt creams, nipple creams, coconut oil, baby blankets and burp clothes. 
*******IMPORTANT THING- MEAL PREP FOR MOMMY. And a nice sized jug for you to have water. It's honestly essential for you so you can take care of baby.  
Someone you can trust to come help you a few times a week- just so you can take a breather or take a nap. Because of covid we didn't get to have this until I broke down and needed sleep after 2 weeks at home alone. (Before I got the co sleeper. Lol) It was only for 2 hours once every other week and I ended up staying awake but the adult human interaction was a life saver. Having someone bring me food was the best. Being able to use the bathroom without holding a baby was fantastic. I even got a shower in!
