I noticed our 2.5 year old started stuttering about a month or two ago. It seems to happen most when she is excited about something, so I thought maybe her mind was working faster than she could verbally communicate, but now I’m starting to worry. For example, tonight she came home from hanging with Grandma and as she was starting her sentence she stuttered: “Mommy I, Mommy I, Mommy I had ice cream with sprinkles on it”. This happens everyday now (she’s an excitable kid). She is able to formulate full sentences and her vocabulary is pretty extensive (but I’d say within normal age range). It’s typically a stutter or repeat of the beginning of her sentences (the first word or two). Should I be worried?
