How hard is it going to be?! 😅

Question

I have an 18 month daughter and due my second in Feb. There will be 21 months between them. I just read a post about having 2 under 2s and the replies were - its challenging at times but its worth it as they are really close. Which is great and why we planned to have them close together buuuuuttt...what does challenging at times mean?.. Lack of sleep? Different routines? Different needs? Mum guilt?

Answer

I have 3, who are all 21 months apart. They're 2, 3, and almost 5 months. 
Honestly, I did not find it difficult at all. But my older two were still up every 2-3 hours, so my sleep stayed exactly the same. And neither were taking naps when their brothers arrived. 
I also have two different experiences. My oldest was ecstatic about my middle son. Very happy, wanted to help with everything. Never jealous. He was the same with the youngest. 
My middle? Could not have given less of a shit when we brought the baby home, lmao. Still doesn't care. Not jealous. Just apathetic as hell about him. He's autistic, though. And shows no interest in anyone, really. 
I imagine a lot of the difficulty could come into play if the older one was jealous. I've got no experience with that, though. Also, if you're a working mom, I can imagine that is harder. I'm a SAHM. 
But honestly, everyone told me how difficult 2 under 2 and 3 under 4 would be. But I didn't find it nearly as difficult as relatives and friends tried to scare me into thinking it would be. 
The only difficult thing for me now is nights. 3 year old has been sleeping through the night for a few months. Baby is my little godsend and has been sleeping through the night for about a month. 2 year old, as I mentioned is autistic, and has all of the sleep difficulties that most children on the spectrum have. So the only thing causing me much difficulty is just sleep problems with my 2 year old.

How hard is it going to be?! 😅
