Birth control help

Last night, I had protected sex. The condom didn’t break and he ejaculated inside the condom as well. After, we simply filled the condom up with water to make sure it had no rips so it was all good. I know of taking plan B but I didn’t find it necessary since it didn’t break & I know it can mess my body up. Also, I’m supposed to get my period in 6 days, let’s just say that the condom did break( but it didn’t) and semen went inside of me, could it affect my period that is supposed to come in 6 days from coming? Also I definitely want to get on birth control after I make sure that I get my period but should I wait any longer to make sure I’m not pregnant?
