What to do if baby skips nap

My 9 month old is being so difficult with naps lately. She seems to be skipping her afternoon nap. What do I do? I’ve been trying g for 2 hours it’s a lost cause. I’m really at a loss . Please help mamas.

I would just forget the nap. I would always stress myself out so bad trying to get my daughter to nap some days. Luckily it didn’t happen very often. If she happens to have  a day like that I just say screw it. I usually will just put her to bed earlier than normal.

Is she fighting it because she’s overtired or because she doesn’t need the nap? How’s she sleeping at night without the nap? 
If she’s getting overtired the only thing to do is just really keep an eye on her cues and get her to sleep before she gets to that point. So maybe you need to adjust her nap times. 
If she’s not tired and just fighting you because she doesn’t want to sleep & sleeping fine at night without the nap: You can’t force her to sleep obviously so she might have days with just one nap. It’s definitely more stress on both of you trying to put her to bed for 2 hours.

My 9 month old only naps once a day and has been for almost 2 months she sleeps all night long and isn’t fussy during the day

Some kids start trying it out and then after a few days go back to normal schedule.  However, she might be ready for just one nap a day.  My son transitioned on his own at about 10 months to one nap and has been on the same schedule since.  He is now 25 months old.  He’s starting to try out dropping his one nap lately.  That’s a totally different situation.  Anyway, you could still let your baby lay down and try doing some quiet time instead.  If, after an hour, still not asleep, I would just call it good and get up.  Then, you will probably want to try to adjust the schedule a bit so the 1st nap will be later in the day.

There are two sides to this for me. My almost 8 month old if he doesnt go down for afternoon nap by 2, its going to be a long afternoon bc hes not going down.... and if hes awake and does want to go to slp and is super focused and wants to play... my lo was cranky today, and it was 230 and i coyld tell he needed to rest. So i put him the car and went to go get our dogs at daycare! He was out before we left our main street/ main rd! So its tricky but you kinda just have to observe and judge it accordingly.

How many naps does she normally take in a day? Are u laying her down as soon as u see tired cues or could she be overtired?
