Which crib mattress?

Question

A regular Graco foam mattress with great reviews is $60-$80. But then I discovered the Newton Baby crib mattress which is a mattress that is made from material that you can literally breath right through, so even if baby is face down she will be safe. The thing is that the Newton Baby is $300, and I don't know if it's necessary to spend so much extra on a special crib mattress if a regular one is just fine. What do y'all think??

Regular crib mattress are just fine. Have been for years but it’s your choice

I was contemplating the exact same thing. I decided to go with the cheaper mattress. I’m planning on keeping my baby in a bassinet for the first couple months. By the time I transfer them to a crib, they’ll most likely be able to roll over so needing a breathable mattress wouldn’t be necessary.

I just want to point out that a baby would not be ok face down what ever kind of mattress it is
