Copper IUD- can’t self penetrate

Hi ladies! I’ve been taking oral contraceptives for 5 years now, and just recently switched to the copper IUD paraguard.

I have no complaints! The birth control seems to be working well, with only minor cramping. Small issue..

I am uncomfortable penetrating myself to check for the strings. I have never been very comfortable with self penetration, usually for self pleasure I touch myself externally. I have been able to get middle finger deep into myself after gaining the courage, but can’t seem to feel any strings.

Am I not going deep enough? It seems silly but I would like to check that my IUD is still in place, but can’t seem to get the strength to really dive in there and find the strings.
