Spotting or period ?

Hey girls I need some advice I started bleeding yesterday just light bleeding I don’t know what’s going on my period has been irregular lately either beginning of the month or around the 15 it’s late by some days Im not sure which is why I’m here asking for help my period is usually heavy on the first day I’ve been checking my pad and theres no blood but when I go to use the restroom there’s blood on the toilet paper it’s light pink could it be implantation ? I wouldn’t know as I’ve never been pregnant before any advice ? I’m planning on buying a pregnancy test today to test is it to early or should I wait ?? How long does implantation last ?
