Can you use a foundation as a eyeshadow primer?

Question

If you don’t have a eyeshadow primer or eye primer(?), can you use a foundation in it’s place? Or is it even safe to use foundation there(around your eyes)?(I’m really new to makeup and don’t know a lot of things so please forgive me if this is a dumb question)

Yes it’s safe and fine if it works for you, but can cause your eyeshadow to crease. 
Overall, I’ve really had no issues using some foundation on my eyelids if I’m not wearing shadow, or just applying the foundation and concealer around the shadow if I am using some on my bare eyelid. I’d make sure to use a primer on your eyes if you’re using a cream eyeshadow or have more oily eyelids tho, it will help your makeup last longer and still look fresh at the end.
