Quitting paci cold turkey

I’ve been trying to research for the past hour but cannot find much info on weaning infants cold turkey. Just toddlers. My son is 9 months old and has 4 teeth. I had tried the pacifier weaning system months ago and couldn’t take the fits, so by accidentally losing his binky, we have quit cold turkey. He’s gone over 24 hours so far, and it’s pretty rough. My question is, is it ok to stop cold turkey on a infant? I had seen some article talking about causing them stress since that’s how they calm themselves, but I’m not just letting him cry himself to sleep. We are trying other calming methods just no binky 🤷🏼‍♀️ has anyone else done this? And is it ok for my baby?
