How rare are false positives?

Just had a miscarriage a little while back. Had 1 period last month now I’m 3 days late so I took a cheap test and it has 2 little pink lines on it. But my significant other and I haven’t been haven’t a lot of intimacy. So I went to buy more expensive test. And now I’m waiting till I have to pee again. ￼

A true false positive is extremely rare. It’s more common to misread a test. For example, reading the test out of the time frame can lead a woman to believe it’s positive because of evap lines that show up as it dries. Same goes for dismantling tests, which causes them to dry too fast and makes evaps look more prominent.
As long as you follow the instructions on the test, if it’s positive you can trust it to be accurate.

I’ve gotten one before it is rare , however for me it was a bad test we left it in the heat . And it was always way to early so a lot of things didn’t add up and I got my period. 
But a lot of people say that it does not exist or you had a chemical pregnancy and didn’t know it . But no it can happen without having a chemical miscarriage etc even certain medicines can give you a false positive .
