Bleeding before ovulation

I had my period from the 12th to the 16th of November. 2-3 days ago I noticed a little bit of spotting but yesterday it was slightly more than spotting but still less than a full period and yesterday it was a dark brown/red. Today however was the opposite I woke up needing a full ass pad instead of just the liner. And the blood is bright red. I don’t have any other symptoms of a period but this is definitely more like a period. I have NEVER EVER had this happen before and the internet has been no help. I’m trying to keep track so I’m not sure if I have to put this in as a period or just keep putting spotting I’m so confused but I don’t know what’s going on. Has this happened to anyone else before? Is this something I should worry about?
