5 weeks pregnant and bleeding

I’m five weeks and 2 days pregnant. Today I went to the bathroom and noticed bright red blood when I wiped. I immediately panicked and called my OB. They drew my hcg which is 35000, they will check again in 48 hours to make sure it’s not lowering. I have had mild cramping all day but the blood has lessened and since darkened. I still have pregnancy symptoms like nausea and sore breasts. Anyone experienced something similar and continued on to a healthy pregnancy? Or does this sound like miscarriage?
