Single umbilical artery (2 vessel cord)

Hi everyone - I had my 19w survey scan today and was diagnosed with single umbilical artery. Wondering if anyone has experience with this? I’m a bit confused about the information I was given. On one hand, the doctors did not seem overly concerned, but they weren’t very reassuring either. They said I could pursue amniocentesis if I want to be 100% sure the baby does not have chromosomal abnormalities.

I think everything else on the scan looked normal, although they booked a follow up appointment to get better views of the heart (no fetal echo recommended). I also spoke with a genetic counselor later on in the day who was very very reassuring. She told me she didn’t think an amniocentesis was indicated, since the risk was very low for chromosomal anomalies.

I’m just a bit concerned. Not really sure if I’m overreacting, since the genetic counselor seemed so reassuring. I just got a weird vibe from the doctors. They sorta seemed to brush it off, but I don’t remember feeling very reassured.

Any advice is appreciated!!
