Unless you have an immunocompromised baby, Covid isn’t a concern, even with new borns. It’s very rare for babies to contract the virus, and even more rare for them to even develop symptoms if they do. With that said, we will follow standard new born procedure when he is born. Only close family will be around him the first few weeks, and everyone will wash their hands. Immediate family will be getting updated whooping cough and flu vaccinations soon. Our doctor has advised us to take usual precautions like you would with a newborn born in flu season.

My baby isn’t due till the end of March I’m hoping there’s some sort of breakthrough by then and things calm some ... my family is in healthcare so it does make me nervous with them being around I already informed them I would like some sort of quarantine beforehand if it possible or or may not allow them to see him we have the opportunity to be working from home and my girls are remote so my risk is generally low right now and i don’t want to raise it I’m just not going to take that risk until he’s stronger and older idk how is immune system is going to be

Just my sister who lives nearby who we see every week & my mom who is flying in from Arkansas. I do worry about that a little, but she's a retired nurse and very clean and takes the cleanliness and mask wearing seriously, so I do feel good about that.

Only grandparents and my brothers family because we are in a pod already. I’m honestly nervous about my in laws visiting because they’ll be flying in three weeks after my due date, but I also don’t want to keep this moment from them and know realistically it should be okay and they’re very cautious. Part if me hopes I deliver a couple weeks early as I have with my other two just so it gives her a little more time earth side before visitors come.

Only immediate family, definitely our parents. We’re already being extra cautious just with me being pregnant, so we’ll likely be doing the same once the baby arrives. We will definitely limit it to 1-2 people visiting at a time, and taking hand washing very seriously. If the numbers are bad and they are still working outside the house then we might do masks or have them get tested first. But it’s really going to depend on how severe it is in March and what the vaccine status is.

I 100% feel like I'm over reacting, BUT I will be keeping my older kids off school for two weeks. Luckily I'm due at the end so right in time for Easter half term but they/we will all be isolating on the count down to the birth. And for at least 2 weeks after. Then people will be made to wear a mask. That's my plan if things aren't more under control by then. If the hospitals still have tight rules about your partner coming to appointments and being with us in hospital, then my rules will be just as tight. I will be using that as my guide not the news.

I just met with my children’s pediatrician and she said there is no risk to babies and children if they don’t have serious health conditions so I don’t see a reason to isolate babies or my kids because of COVID, what I would be more concerned about is the flu.

Nope. Not letting anyone into our bubble for a while. My daughter turned 1 in October and still hasn’t met any of my husbands side. It’s just not worth the risk to me.

No I’m just letting grandparents. I have family who works in healthcare and they are saying we will be wearing masks till next winter most likely. I’m high risk and I’m not just worried about covid but the flu as well. So many babies near me have ended up in hospital already from flu and covid
