Do you care about the sex of your OB/delivering doctor? If so, which do you prefer?

I want to say I don’t care, but from all the OBs I’ve seen the ones that have been my favourite.
I find the male presence to be reassuring, and less emotional. 🤷‍♀️

I do not care however my first daughter was a male and me of my fav OBs but he retired 😏 he also delivered me! With my second.. well hospital sent me home and my water broke as soon as I got home. Crowning in bed and had about 4 male EMTs deliver her! Hahaha. So idk I haven’t had an issue with a male! All the emts were dads so I’m sure that helped a lot!

I’ve had both and in the moment I didn’t care who was gone there I just wanted a competent doctor who would safely deliver my baby 🥰

There’s 2 OBs at my hospital so I’m required to see them both to get comfortable with both just in case. I prefer the male one. He’s an old man who’s delivered half the babies in my town and he’s just relaxed. He doesn’t mom-shame or stress about anything besides the baby’s health when he sees her. I’ve had 3 appointments with him and only 1 with the female but I definitely did not feel as comfortable or personal. She was very kind though and a lot of people like her! I just prefer him I guess

I had a male OB the beginning half of my last pregnancy who I absolutely adored, he was great always making sure I was comfortable! Then halfway through my pregnancy I moved and found a female doctor I equally adored! I think it’s mainly about meeting them and finding who you feel you can trust and who makes you comfortable! ❤️

Get this baby out!!! ... that’s how I felt by the time the OB got in the room, so I didn’t care what they were.

I just want someone to get that baby out of me! The last two deliveries I did have a female but I definitely wouldn’t have cared who was down there. Although funny thing is, my midwife told my husband he could deliver the baby with my second birth, and when the time came I wouldn’t let him do it, I just wanted him to hold my hand. I know it would have been an amazing experience for him, but I just wanted him by my side.

I have Kaiser so while I do care, I won’t have a choice! They rotate so whoever is on call will do delivery
