Measuring ahead??

Question

So I seen the doc today and I’m 33 weeks and 4days but baby is measuring 37 weeks. They used the measuring tape. So my question is, has anyone else measured that far ahead using a measuring tape? Did it change anything? Did doc order a ultrasound? Did baby measure just fine and normal at scan? Did baby still measure ahead? Was it just fluid making the baby seem bigger?

I'm measuring 4 weeks ahead but on an ultrasound baby is measuring spot on, its my 3rd and my muscles have just given up 😂

They dont use measuring tapes at my hospital anymore they do a ultrasound to check everything

Only an ultrasound can see if the baby is measuring on track or not. All other methods are outdated and very inaccurate. My baby is also measuring ahead 2 weeks but he has been for a while now, I have GD so it’s no surprise. But even in a scan there is some uncertainty.

My sister in law measured similar like that they said the baby was huge and would be about 9-10 pounds she delivered at 37 weeks and the baby only weighed 8.lbs 7 oz .

Yeah I’m measuring big on both measuring tape and ultrasound. No method is truly accurate though, at best there is “only” a 15% margin for error. Every baby on my husband’s side has been over 10lb and almost all of them were normal straight forward deliveries. Your body won’t make a baby that’s too big for you.
