My 3yr old proved that higher temps CaN be teething. With her molars and canines she always ran a 103-105 fever. And proven it wasn’t a virus. 
So YES higher temps CAN be teething.

When my son was getting his first set of molars(all four at the same time) he had a temp that went just past 102.  It went up and down for about 24 hours and then subsided.  Higher temps definitely can accompany teething.

101 happened once but came down quickly and hovered at 99/100 for a couple days. 102 I'd be worried it was something else.
