Can stress delay your period?

Hey girls! I recently had protected sex on day 23 of my cycle and I'm currently on day 34 and 2 days late. The longest cycle I've had is about 36 days. I'm super stressed about being pregnant tho (ik it's probably nothing but I have really bad anxiety). Can me stressing about it just delay my period even more?

If you’re really stressed than yeah. I have bad anxiety and it screwed up my period/hormones for like a year. But period sensitivity and experience varies person to person so the amount of stress needed to stop a period varies too. I think it’s quite possible. Has anything else in your routine changed?

If you’re under a lot of stress, you can temporarily stop ovulating because your body’s in fight or flight mode. Additionally, if you’ve had any sever body weight changes that can also screw up a period’s timing.
