Thoughts on nicknames as first names?

Specifically Gracie and Rosie. I love these both but I don't like the sound of Grace and Rose 😫 and everyone says they can't be the full first name. Thoughts? I mean, Evie and Ellie started as nicknames and are used as first names now right?

Gracie and Rosie are fine names, but also just want to throw out there that later on in a professional environment or as moody teenagers they may prefer to go by Grace or Rose, just as examples. I think it’s perfectly acceptable to have the formal name on the birth certificate and call them by whatever you please. For example, my daughter is Camille and we call her Millie. I wanted a name with the nickname Millie (my grandma is Mildred but I don’t like that name). But when she’s older I want her to have the freedom to go by whatever she wants, whether that be Millie, Cammie, Cam, etc.

They can be used as full names! What's the point in naming your child something else when you know you're only gonna be calling them by their nickname? :)

Big fan of naming your babe whatever you LIKE! Also big fan of “nickname” names. No one will even think twice when they meet them

Of course they can be first names. You can name your child whatever you like

Totally acceptable as first names! If you really wanted a longer name there are options other than Grace and Rose, like Gracelynn, Graceland, Graciella, Rosalind, Rosaline, Rosalie, Rosanna, Rosemund, Rosemary, Rosemarie. But if you just like Gracie or Rosie by itself go for it! There’s nothing wrong with a shorter name.

Everyone calls our daughter Rosie even tho her name is Rosabel! So obviously im biased and would say pick Rosie ;) 
I say go for it!!
