My step-dad made me feel like this would be a weird gift to give my mom on Christmas.

About 20 years ago my grandma passed away and about two years ago my grandpa passed away. My mom is very sentimental and family oriented. I wanted to give her a hummingbird locket (my gran used to love hummingbirds) and have a picture of my grandpa and grandma in side the locket with the engraving “now they fly with hummingbirds” along with a note saying how I couldn’t imagine not having my mom in my life and even though grandma and grandpa aren’t here anymore they are still with you”.

Is it too emotional/sentimental for Christmas? I’m also getting her a bag for a hobby she has so it’s not so heavy of a gift day. Please give me your thoughts!

I was also considering putting a picture of both of them together on one side and putting “now they fly with hummingbirds” on the other side of the locket because I might not have time to get something engraved.
