When will you start giving baby food?

My pediatrician said it was fine to start (4 months) if baby was interested. My daughter tried it for the 1st time at 5 months.

Not until he can sit up independently and shows an interest. I plan to do more of a BLW approach. We’ll likely do some purée, but not much

I’ve let him try some purées at 5 months, but once he turns 6 months on the 30th i’m gonna start BLW. Our pediatrician said we could start solids at 4 months if he was interested and he was but I wasn’t ready and I don’t think he’s completely ready either.

This is my second & ive waited til 6m for both. He’s 24w now so we’ll likely start soon once his cold has passed. Where I live they’ve learned that there’s no need to start before 6m. When before they were saying 4-6m as well. But the recommendations here are now 6m & I prefer to wait anyways. I’ve started making some food tho so once this cold is gone he can start!

Started with baby cereal at 3.5 months and now we have been doing pureed jars of food for 1 week. Only about 4oz a day to get him used to different textures and see how his tummy will be

My daughter has all the signs of readiness but I'm waiting until 6 months because I want to do what is best/safest for her. I had to wean my son early at 5 months because he stopped gaining weight (it didn't help much but that's what I was told to do by professionals). I do food as fun before a year old anyway, milk is most important until then. I will do BLW also, with my son I had to do purees because he was too young and I hated it, I swapped to BLW once he was 6 months and plan to start off with BLW straight away this time.

I’ve started baby rice 2 days ago and will start fruit/vegetable purées when he’s 5 months and solids probably when he’s 6 months or when he’s ready
