Has your baby/toddler ever choked to the point of intervention?

My two year old chokes on apples, for whatever reason. Twice we had to intervene, she doesn’t get apples anymore.

Yes a few times.  Now I'm paranoid when he eats. 😑

Yes my baby was 3 my grandad gave him a peppermint. He swallowed and he turned blue😭 luckily I knew the heimlich maneuver saved my son's life. He didn't eat another hard peppermint again.

Our second daughter choked on a chip at 2 yrs old , daddy had to reach back with his finger and grab it because it was stuck !!!

Not my daughter but my nephew did. I was in the car with him and my parents and he just started choking out of nowhere. He was trying to get whatever it was in his throat out with fingers (we didn’t know what it was at the point.) My mom was finally able to get it out and it was a plastic bottle cap.

My second did at least once a week.  Her tonsils were so large that they were impeding her ability to swallow.  It never happened again once she had them removed

At 8 months, my son choked on watermelon.  It was terrifying.  Thankfully I was aware of infant Heimlich but when we were in the situation, instinct really took over for me.  My husband cried, my son vomited so much and we went to the children’s ER to make sure none was aspirated.  My son was ok.  But my husband and I will never feel fully comfortable when my son will eat watermelon.

My daughter put a sticker in her mouth before.
It got stuck in her throat.
My mouth in law stuck her finger in my girls throat so fast, she puked it up and was totally fine.
It was terrifying.

My daughter choked on pancakes, she put WAY too much in her mouth-I always give her a few pieces at a time but my mom decided to give her the entire pancake 🤦‍♀️ and of course she went for it. Started choking and my husband went into fireman mode and had to lean her down and forward and basically beat her back to get it all out. I am glad he remains calm in emergency situations because I sure don’t!

My son choked on a handful of puffs, my mom flipped him over and practically pounded him to get them out. She won’t let me even bring them around her anymore. I only give him 2-3 at a time now.
