How can I encourage my son to sit up or pull himself to standing on his own? He’s 10 months and can sit if we set him down on his butt but he doesn’t sit up on his own. He’s not able to pull himself up to standing either, but he tries.

We just had his 9 month appointment (he’ll be 10 months on the 14th) and the doctor said to check in in 6 weeks before his one-year appointment and if he’s not sitting up or pulling himself to standing he’ll need physical therapy.

He’s otherwise healthy, happy and growing but apparently behind on some milestones. How do I help him get up to speed and avoid physical therapy?
