Work DRAMA!! Who should I help?!

Question

I am currently caught between two feuding coworkers 
Both are my coworker but one is the Employee and the other one is her Boss (neither of them are my boss nor am I their boss). Both are friends of mine. Both are amazing people which I care about. 
But there is now drama and I am in the middle...
So the Employee recently got injured and tried contacting her Boss on Sunday about it. She called and texted several times but Boss completely ignored her calls and text messages while still being active in a group text that work had going with Employee in the group text as well. 
Employee feels completely betrayed and hurt that she was intentionally ignored. She tells me she won’t be into work on Monday and that she tried contacting Boss about it but since Boss never answered she needs to fend for herself and makes me swear against telling Boss that she won’t be in. Boss comes in late today, unaware that employee was not coming in and is PISSED!  
Employee texts me today telling me she won’t come in tomorrow because she is still pissed. 
Tonight, Boss asks me if I have spoken to Employee and if I know if she will be in tomorrow. 
Employee doesn’t want me to tell Boss. She wants me to keep it a secret. 
What do I do?! Do I tell Boss that she is on her own again tomorrow, that employee won’t be in? Or do I go behind employees wishes and tell Boss so she is well prepared for the next day?

U need to tell employee to keep u out of it, and that as an adult, if u get asked a question, you’re going to be honest about it and not lie for her. Why doesn’t she handle her own shit and just tell boss she’s not coming in so that boss doesn’t have to question u to find out answers.

Id stay out of it. The boss needs to contact the employee directly as a boss is suppose to do. And the employee should send text, email, voicemail in the appropriate time frame designated in employee handbook so she is excused. But i would stay out of it and tell the employee to leave me out of it.

You just need to be professional.  Tell Employee that you don’t want to be in the middle and tell Boss that you think she may not be in and that they should communicate directly.

I would tell the the boss to act like the boss and contact her employee and I'd tell the employee I won't lie when asked a question.  Then  I'd tell them both I no longer want to hear about it and not involve me any further.

They both need to put their big girl pants on and not put you in the middle. It has nothing to do with you. I'd stay put of it. The boss needs to ask the employee. If employee does no call no show that should be auto fire

I say just tell them to leave you out of it if your uncomfortable being in the middle. At the end of the day if boss and employe didn’t both know you they would be in the exact same position and not know anything extra. You are not there mother but they are acting like children. Employe did her part by reaching out. It is bosses responsibility to at least read the messages and do her job by preparing for the problems she’s being warned about. A no call no show is still friends for termination so employee needs to keep records to prove wrongful termination if this goes south. They are both being childish.

I would tell the Boss to contact their employee. I would tell the employee to reply back and stop putting you in the middle. It’s extremely childish to keep updating you but not her workplace. If she doesn’t want to speak to her, she can email her boss & let her know. It’s not your job to update either. I think the Boss should have responded to the calls or text especially if they were already active in group work text. I also understand the Employee needed to vent but she’s acting like a child now. She needs to let her Boss know if she can’t come in & for how long. After telling them both to talk to each other, I’d avoid them for a bit until they grow up.
