Laundry soda just softens water, it's nowhere near powerful enough to effectively clean human waste. You need hot water and good quality detergent to get the multiple layers of cloth clean x

To my knowledge laundry soda isn’t strong enough for human waste. If you’re looking for something greener, we use seventh generation UPP free and clear, and it’s been working well for a year and a half. What detergent you should/can use will depend a lot on your water hardness.
