Changing table topper

I will be using a dresser as the “changing table.” Is a topper necessary or will I be fine just setting the changing pad on top of the dresser??

Not necessary. We nailed our changing pad to the back of the dresser using the straps that are attached to the changing pad. As far as I know, all changing pads come with these straps already attached for easy installation. We had it like that for over 3 years for our first child (a very strong, squirmy boy) and plan to use the same changing pad for our next baby this spring. I didn’t want the wooden changing pad frame because my son was extremely tall and his legs or head would have hit the wooden frame.

In my pinion the topper is definitely necessary. It keeps the pad from moving around on top of the dresser. Babies like to roll and squirm and the pad will most certainly move with the baby

I would get something. Babies like to roll and wiggle. It’s sometimes a wrestling match. Lol
