Preeclampsia: what foods to avoid
I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant with my 3rd. My blood pressure has been low all my life so when I saw my bp this pregnancy not only reach normal numbers but occasionally go above, it set off alarms. I ended up switching doctors bc my other doctor was not taking my concern seriously. My new doc has put me on daily 1200 calcium and 2 baby aspirins. She also did a blood test to check my lactate dehydrogenase levels and they were high, above the normal threshold and she told me this is linked with preeclampsia. So I’m very lucky we were able to catch it early. I asked if there are any dietary restrictions I should follow and she told me since I eat pretty healthy that there isn’t much I could do as far as diet bc the placenta is what’s causing my high bp. Just wondering if anyone else was told different?
