How long did it take your cervix to dilate?

38w1d today and I am not dilated at all 😂 thought things were starting down there because of how much pressure I’ve been feeling but nope. 
I was also expecting to schedule an induction today because of my GD but my doctor no longer wants to induce if I’m not dilated because he is weighing perfectly and my diet has been under control so well (win)! It would be nice to get a tax break, but it would be cool to start 2021 off with a bang 🙃

I didn’t dilate until after my waters went with my first, this time around I was 2cm when I went in 2 hours after my waters went and contractions started. Both labours I stayed at 3cm for the best part then shot to 10cm within the space of an hour. I had a long latent phase with both then a super fast “active labour”

Girl idk whats worse not progressing or progressing so slow and painful.  I started diaktinf at 36. Was 1 cm no effacement.  By 36+5 I was 2 cm 30% now at 39 im 3 1/2 cm 50% effaced and itssss rough 😫😫😫

This was my fifth baby and I never dilated prior to going into labor I usually dilate pretty quickly once I’m in labor this pregnancy though my body didn’t want to dilate whatsoever until I was about 6 cm dilated.

Due date twinsies! I'm expecting baby #2 right now and was 1cm at my 37 week appointment and I'll have them check me again at my 38 week appointment next week. I basically only asked to get checked due to my own curiosity and to see if I'm dilated enough for my sceduled induction with the cook catheter. My midwives did let me schedule an elective induction at 39 weeks (even though i hated my first medically required induction and really would rather go naturally) due to my last pregnancy ending in high BP along with family history of gestational hypertension, plus I found out that if baby doesn't come and we're not out of the hospital by the 31st we'd have to pay our insurance out-of-pocket max for both 2020 AND 2021! So my practicality of not wanting to pay an additional $4,000 won out over my desire for a natural labor.
