I know the covid situation hasn’t been easy for anyone and I hate to complain but I’m just starting to find it really hard. I’m from the U.K., and live in Buckinghamshire, on Friday we were in tier 2 which meant you could go to the pub or restaurant with your same household, could still do Christmas shopping and meet someone from outside your house hold. I have always been really close to my parents and 3 sisters who all still live at home, and we have been looking forward to Christmas. The rules were that from the 23rd-27th you could form a bubble with 2 other house holds for Christmas period. Roll on to Sunday and we are now in tier 4 which means no where is open, can’t go out to a restaurant, can’t go shopping to non essential shops and most importantly to me Christmas has been cancelled. You can’t see anyone inside or out, or travel outside your area. Honestly me and my family are devastated. I know the rational thing is at least everyone is safe, you can Skype or have a phone call but it’s not the same.

I live with my partner which I’m so grateful for, but being a first time mum, in early pregnancy, I’m just missing my family and finding it hard that We have all been holding out, not seeing them for 2 months, because we have Christmas to look forward to and it’s been taken away, with no idea when I’ll see them again.

I work from home, and due to being in my first trimester, me and my partner thought it was best to reduce the risk and we havnt really gone anywhere apart from food shopping once every week or two. The weather here in the U.K. isn’t great so going out for walks and stuff isn’t always appealing when it’s hammering it down.

I just feel over emotional but also going stir crazy over not really seeing anyone or leaving the house.

Sorry to rant, and I know I should be grateful everyone is safe and well but I’m just so upset. it’s frustrating when you know they havnt left the house in weeks, and we havnt either so know we are all covid free, but still can’t see each other as it’s breaking the law 😭 I just want to be able to share this exciting time with them too.
