My boyfriend gave me a ring. He had gotten himself one too.

I was a little confused so this was our conversation:

Me: Um. Are you popping the question or what’s going on?

Him: Oh no. I don’t think we’re quite ready for that yet. Plus, I want to get you a real ring. These rings are fake and cheap that I got out of an auction.

Me: Okay. So what are we doing here? Practicing?

Him: No. I just want people to know that you and I are taken. You wear yours and I’ll wear mine.

Is this normal?😩 I’ve been engaged before but it was actually a real and beautiful ring and he popped the question. Not to mention, the fake ring my boyfriend got me looks exactly like my ring from my ex!

It was a little awkward and I’m like, we are ADULTS. Why does it feel like we’re playing house??!!😫

How would you ladies react ?!!

I didn’t know if it was weird or cute.

And then if our family and friends ask if we’re engaged, what do we say? Yes but no?! Lol
