How would you feel? - Offensive Christmas Gift?

My grandma got a large breed dog in the beginning of the year because my grandpa really wanted her to have one

My grandpa passed away not long after she got it

My grandma has not had the time/energy/recourses to train this dog because of COVID, my grandpas death, and other factors.

This dog is now large, and overpowers my grandma often. My grandma can’t chase after it. Etc. My grandma is also not able to take the dog in and out of her car or walk it on a leash.

I fear that this dog is going to really hurt her one of these days. My grandmas last large dog knocked my grandma down and my grandmother broke her hip. My grandma now lives alone and I’m afraid that if this dog knocks her down, I don’t know how long she’ll lay there now that she’s home alone.

I’ve offered to take the dog and my aunt has offered to take the dog. My grandma says no, but then makes jokes that she wishes someone would take her.

I’ve contemplated on either hiring a dog trainer to come to her house/or paying for a dog board and train program for my grandma as a Christmas present.

I know my grandma would tell me not to if I asked her if she wanted me to get it for her, because of the price. However, I really think it would be beneficial for her and the dog to get the dog some sort of a basic training established and then work from there.

Now for my question,

How would you feel if someone got you a gift like this as a “surprise”?
