Black out curtains ?

I’m transitioning my baby to his own room in a crib for naps but his room is pretty bright in terms of light. I haven’t tried yet putting him down but do your babies nap in complete dark rooms? Thinking of getting the portable blackout curtains. His bassinet where he’s napping now blocks out some of the light right now but it’s not completely dark.

My daughters room is definitely bright throughout the day. I actually prefer that for her naps bc it differentiates daytime from nighttime. The sunlight doesn’t stop her from having good naps.

My daughter has been taking naps in her crib for about 2 months now. We have those sheer white linen curtains and she has 3 windows in her room so her room is not dark at all during the day with the lights out. She doesn’t mind it at all and will still take 45 min- 1 1/2 hour naps in there. I would try it out with whatever curtains you have know and if baby doesn’t mind then roll with it but if baby needs it to be darker than get some good blackout curtains

My baby naps in full day light with curtain fully open .. I like to keep it this way so his circadian rhythm doesn’t get mess up. I’m pretty sure this has contributed to the fact that every wakes at night he always go back to sleep right away after feeding —  ALWAYS

My son has blackout curtains in his bedroom. It doesn’t block out 100% of light, but it’s fairly dark and cool in there!

I think it depends on how they’re sleeping already. My first was easy and never needed anything extra, no sound machine, no black out curtains. My second is definitely a black out curtain and sound machine baby 😂. So you can always start without them but if they’re struggling on naps then go ahead and get some.
