Heavy bleeding after IUD removal

So I had my mirena coil removed on the 21st December, the same day I had some light cramping and the tiniest amount of spotting. On 22nd I only had cramps, slowly getting worse. But yesterday and today, OMG, the worst cramping I've had in years and very heavy bleeding and blood clots. I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this after removal? I understand that after removal your body is supposed to revert back to how your cycle was before insertion, and I was always a heavy bleeder but this is ridiculous! I've not been able to move for most of today 😅
