Baby sleep

Ol

Hi ladies,

So I’ve got a different baby sleep problem.

My homegirl, Madi, will fall asleep on her own. We don’t really have a getting to sleep problem..she wakes a bit in the night and puts herself back to sleep...fast forward 6 hours, she wakes up and can’t get herself back to sleep.

The begins the nightly cycle. Pop in the paci, shush and pat....she may get herself back to sleep but then it’s an hour and a half later and we’re back at it in a vicious cycle.

What I know:

-She eats enough during the day. She will take a night bottle but it’s not a necessity. She’d take a bottle right after another one.

-we get her to sleep between 6 and 7. I go to bed at 10ish so when this GroundHogs Day begins, I’ve got 3 hours of sleep and am woken mid sleep cycle.

-my husband does help, but when it comes down to it, I figure out the last move - which is typically cuddling her to sleep (in bed) because I’m desperate. DESPERATE. Then she’s cool to fall back asleep and will go 5 hours. My sleep during that time isn’t the greatest, as you can imagine. We’re safe and I’m not worried about that, but we used to make it through the night and I want that back.

-we are dealing with teething right now, too.

So I guess my real question is: how do I sleep train a baby, starting in the middle of the night? Is that the right thing to do?
