Thoughts on switching dogs to sleep outside when baby comes ?

So at the moment my two dogs spend 24/7 inside the house. They pee wherever they want , and they have basically claimed the couch. The couch smells of piss no matter how much we try to clean in. It’s come to the point where I refuse to sit out in the lounge room in the couch because it just makes me sick and frustrated about the piss smell and dog hair. It’s embarrassing when people come over.

I’m thinking about talking to hubby about this . I’m going to talk to him about getting a new couch and having the dogs sleep outside overnight and only being inside when we are home . I just don’t want the baby to come and we can’t even chill out in the lounge room because of the mess and smell. It’s the last thing I’ll need.

Hubby is a sucker when it comes to them though, he spoils them and I know he will not like the idea of having them sleep outside.

What’s everyone’s thoughts ? Is it fair ?

Update: I agree they do need to be trained but also want to clarify that we do not lock them in the house. We have a dog door that they can come in and out of whenever they want
