Can baby moving up cause sharp pains?

I am 20 and a half weeks. Today I was sitting down to eat when all of a sudden I got sharp, shooting pains down the left side of my belly and my left leg. It lasted probably about 10 minutes and it was enough to make me cry. It went away but now I’m wondering if it was just him moving? His movements usually feel really low, like right by my waist line. But now I feel his kicks and movements around the middle of my belly? Is it normal for that to cause pain or should I call my OB?
