Why does my newborn (3 days) keep wanting to eat every 1 hour?

I try to breast feed and also formula feed since i barely have any milk. But he cries every hour because he’s hungry again. I feed him about 1oz every feed and + the small amount of breast milk I do have. I don’t want to over feed him but he keeps crying and making sucking noises.

At 3 days old the stomach is very small. Only a half oz at max. So yes an ounce of formula is too much. 
You just need to nurse him. The more you nurse the more your supply will come in. It takes on average 3-5days for supply to come in. All baby needs is colostrum. That’s it. There is no need for formula unless medically needed.

Totally normal. My daughter ate every hour for the first 3 weeks at least and she nursed for almost 45 minutes to a time. So I had 15 minutes between feedings to smash food in my mouth and do anything else I needed to do before she nursed again. It just helps up your milk supply.

My baby is 3.5 months and still cluster feeds. That is totally normal especially for such a new new baby! Cluster feeding comes in phases, and it's because they only have teeny tiny bellies to hold food and breast milk is very quickly digested so they get hungry. Producing breastmilk is a supply and demand process so the more the baby feeds, the more milk you'll produce! 
The only time I supplemented with formula was right before my milk came in because my son wouldn't latch correctly and tore my nipples apart so badly they bleed for a long time and hurt so bad. I gave my nipples a 24 hour break to heal and then went right back to trying to nurse
