food finally!!! and the best cube trays!!

AK

so my pediatrician said absolutely start solids at 4mos if we want.

(sitting up. reaching for food/spoons. etc.)

we did oatmeal or rice cereal in evenings for two weeks. now we are adding solid food so i went crazy and froze a bunch!!! thought this may be helpful to any of you as you approach solids.

i spent about $5 on veggies. cut them up, boiled them (potatoes), puréed in food processor w water (or milk of choice) and froze in these awesome 2oz trays.

then i bagged them when frozen and marked the bags with expiration (4-6 months) and we now have over 50 2oz servings of sweet potatoes, bananas and avocado! you just put the frozen in a bowl on the counter and warm it up in microwave when ready.

woooooo. so happy i can feed my daughter foods i made and it doesn’t break the bank or take tons of time every day. can’t wait to introduce even more foods and make some blends!!!! oh and for those who want to comment that 2oz isn’t enough, i know. but for now she’s doing 2oz twice a day and i can always double up or buy larger trays.
