Ferber question- wait times

We started sleep training last week with the ferber method and it’s going great! I have a question for you all, though...

Our baby is often falling asleep during the first wait time. So when it comes time to increase the times the next day, she hasn’t actually cried for a whole interval from the day before.

Do you increase the times every day even if baby didn’t cry the full time the day before?

Example:

On Saturday the waits were 8, 10, and 12 minutes. But she never even made it to 8 minutes of crying (a good day!) Do we still up it to 10-15-20 the next day? It seems like a big jump for her.

Curious if anyone had experience with this and what you did!
