Has your relationship recovered after cheating?

Has your partner ever cheated on you? Was it multiple times? How did you guys handle bouncing back from it? I want to hear your stories.

Oof. I found out that my current SO had seriouslyyyyy cheated on me. He was sleeping on and off with his best friend for about 3 years. I didn’t know she existed. She didn’t know I existed. Honestly the whole thing was super messed up. I found out I was pregnant shortly after so I couldn’t really process it tbh. We’re still together. The baby is 4 months old and we now live together. It took awhile for me to get to this point tho. And a lot of communication on both sides. Aloooot. I remember sobbing through talks but being determined to have them. I still don’t *trust* him, but I’m getting there. I stopped making excuses for him and had to just let myself hate him for a bit and then start to rebuild. We had to start over and build our friendship again. We were a very toxic couple before but it’s weirdly different now. We built a strong foundation and now I’m actually super proud of us and of him. It’s not for everyone tho. I wouldn’t have done it had I not been pregnant, but now I’m glad I did because I love who he’s grown to be. I love our relationship. I expected something like that then, but I’d be shocked if he cheated now. People can outgrow bad choices if they truly want too.

It was once, all virtual - emotional and sexual. Never physical. The only thing recovering is my relationship with myself. I will not stay with a person I cannot trust and who is not grown enough to give me what I deserve.

I was with my ex for 3.5 years, he was a serial cheater/liar. I constantly took him back, he never stopped. We were never able to recover. I FINALLY left him. 
I told myself I’d never put up with that kind of treatment ever again & I would end the relationship immediately if someone else was to cheat.
I met my now husband 6 weeks after that breakup. He’s always been amazing, and now we’ve been together going on 10 years, married, homeowners, 2 kids together (so far).
I suggest leaving a cheater & never looking back.

Girl, he will never stop. Best thing you can do for yourself is walk away.
The pain is short but once you heal you gain incredible self worth. Trust me I had to do it after a 5 year relationship and engagement, just needed to end it and better things came my way. Now I have an amazing husband, child and not a single doubt of any concern.

I never recovered from it. I was constantly on edge and anxious. I left those relationships. Not worth the mental toll.

Yes. Multiple times. No we couldn’t recover from it. I couldn’t at least I mean I was cheated on multiple times over a long period of time. I didn’t find it all out until the end and by then after hearing it all come to the surface my feelings were just shut off. Best thing I did for myself was to leave and never look back.
