How to share the news with a good friend who's going through a tough time
A good friend of mine found out recently that her child has cancer. It's going to be a tough road for them, as the the child needs to undergo chemo and radiation therapy. I'm trying to be supportive and encouraging, but it's difficult to show up properly during these COVID times.
Anyway... she's a close friend, and I want to tell her we're expecting, but I want to do it with appropriate sensitivity. Her life has been turned upside down, and I don't want to parade in with some great news of my own. That said, she's still her, and she probably would appreciate being treated with some sense of normalcy...
Am I overthinking this?
Anyone have any advice?
